Seamless Information Flow

Our 2D and 3D structural modeling systems allow us to take any concept through design, to detailing and erection, as quickly and efficiently as possible at this point in time within our industry.

This alone is a statement to be proud of, although we have considerable development plans that will place us in an even stronger position within the market place, and will allow us to provide greater performances for and on behalf of our clients.

Information created by our team of Design Engineers, using 2D / 3D modeling systems such as Ram Analysis, CSC design suite and the latest 3D+, is then electronically transferred to our DMS ( Document Management System ) . A key part of which is the Go-Data MIS, which assists in the efficient transfer of construction information from the design office, to the drawing office and then on to the fabrication department.

Our highly advanced Design systems provide data electronically to the Drawing Office modeling systems. This information transfer enables the efficient creation of 2D General arrangements, which can be inserted into the 3D detailing products used, for example Strucad 3D, 3D+, Multisuite 2 and 3D. The creation of the complete structural steel frame model therefore is extremely accurate and efficient, even on the most complex of structures.

Progress Without Disruption

Fabrication of the structural steel and component items is completed through automated processes, without intervention. Robinson's are predominantly equipped with an array of Peddinghouse CNC equipment, which receives data directly from the 3D modeling systems, via our structured network, comprised of mainly optical fibre to ensure future planned infrastructure development can progress without disruption.

Document Management System

All the information created by the task specific systems is also made available to our intranet DMS ( Document Management System ) along with all incoming and outgoing correspondence, albeit electronic or paper scanned to the system, this is an invaluable asset as a one stop contract view for all staff.

All staff have access to a PC, incorporating the latest Microsoft Office tools and drawing viewers available, with full fast DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) internet access 24/7. We are increasingly using Extranet Portal Sites, such as BIW and The-Project that has proven benefits to both the Client and all his Sub-Contractors. We are soon to launch our own Extranet, which will both help the Client see the progression of his contract, should they not employ there own Extranet provider, and allow remote users access to key project information in real time.

On Site IT

All our on site erection teams / engineers have laptop computers available with the 3D model of the steelwork, digital cameras and a live link into the company's Information Systems, to improve accurate and efficient data flow to and from the live site.
